!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . But not on a Mazda platform.
What the fuck is in Marchionne's head?

Rumors have persisted that Fiat might get the Mazda-based roadster instead.
Basing the Alfa roadster on the sedan platform has me all suspicious. I mean, it's what they've always done with Alfa Spiders, and at least this one will be RWD. But I hope it isn't just a cut-up sedan like the last one was.

They will have to use the Mazda platform somehow, the contract is signed, and canceling it would be costly, for the cash burning FCA. Not using that platform for the Alfa, is a mistake.

Relax. There will be a small inexpensive great handling italian roadster.
Fiat needs a roadster as well and Alfa Romeo is more upmarket than Fiat. More downmarket than the MX-5 is not feasible for a rear-wheel drive fun roadster and the choice makes sense.

Not if they will make it an Abarth just to fail in the US. Why? Because 99% of Americans have no idea what an Abarth is, and if you ask them about it, they will ask you what's the right sauce for it.

If it looks good, drives well, is affordably priced and if people can find Fiat showrooms I don't think there's going to be a problem.

Exactly. Which is why they'll probably use it for Fiat instead.

Not sure how I feel about this. I'm very happy that Alfa will still be getting a new Spider, but the MazdAlfa was probably the only new car I'd want that I actually stand a chance of affording.
I'm really not surprised people have doubts about Alfa if Marchionne keeps changing his fucking mind every time they get close to releasing a new car.
